SwamiLaptops becomes No. 1 on Google India

It took me 6 months of hard work, patience, perseverance, sleepless nights and a lot of Lemon tea to make SwamiLaptops No. 1 on Google India.

SwamiLaptops is No. 1 on Google India for following keywords:


Cheapest Laptop
Cheapest Laptops
Online Laptop shop
Also SwamiLaptops is no. 1 for most of the laptop models listed on catalog.
SwamiLaptops occupies No. 1 position of of 435,000 search results for Cheapest Laptops. This is a big achievement for me given the fact that I’m not an SEO Guru.

For Keyword Online Laptop Shop SwamiLaptops appear on No. 1 in Google India Search out of 39,100,000 (about 39 Million) search results. That is no less than a miracle, and that too which is done in just 6 months of SEO work.

SwamiLaptops also appears to be in top position for following keyword searches
Sony Laptop, Toshiba Laptop, Acer Laptop, Lenovo Laptop, Apple Laptop, LG Laptop, HP Laptop, Compaq Laptop, HCL Laptop, Wipro Laptop and Sahara Laptop, laptop accessories,
Reliance Wifi Data Card, and Most of the Laptop models search.

SwamiLaptops even surpasses giant blue chip companies (most of them are manufacturers of the laptops) in gogle search result for the laptop brands.
Take one example of Lenvo laptop Lenovo 3000 N100-0689 AQ1, a search for this on google.co.in results SwamiLaptops in on the No. 1 position.
Similarly a search for Sahara Laptop NB736320-HJ04 on Google India shows SwamiLaptops on No. 1 spot.

Most of the laptop models listed on SwamiLaptops appear on the top of Google.co.in search results.
When I started working on SwamiLaptops SEO I had very little experience of SEO but a lot of brain power to chalk out a plan for future. It all worked, and in this process I’ve broken a number of SEO myths.
Take another example; a search for keyword Reliance Wifi Data Card shows SwamiLaptops on 3rd position even much above than Reliance website itself.
Google PR Myth is busted

One of the most misunderstood concept in SEO world is the Google Page Rank (PR). Many people believe that a higher PR will give website higher position in search results, which is not completely true. Or lets put it in this way a lower PR doesn’t mean that your website ill be lower in search results. In fact a PR has not much to do with search result ranking.
Let me give the real example. Search for Online Laptop shop in Google India shows SwamiLaptops listed at No. 1 position which is well above toshibadirect online shop and shopping.hp.com which are PR6 websites. SwamiLaptops is just PR3 and if the PR myth was true SwamiLaptops shall appear below HP online shop or toshibadirect shops.

DMOZ is dead

SwamiLaptops is not even listed in DMOZ. Listing in DMOZ or not being there has no affect of whatsoever on the search result ranking.

I didn’t do any miracle, I even didn’t look at any competitor’s websites (There are none SwamiLaptops is the only online laptop shop in India till date), what I did was a little bit of keyword optimization, a lot of content research and some promotional activities.
SwamiLaptops is a success story in line with my other online ventures SwamiPC, SwamiWebDesign and IndiaTechForum, which are also in the top list on Google India searches.
